This is an echocardiogram from a 30 year old man with massive pulmonary embolism. The echo shows a clot in the right atrium, passing across the atrial septum (foremen ovale) into the left atrium. The tricuspid valve is see to the left with the right ventricle, the tri-leaflet aortic valve in the center, and the pulmonary valve to the right of the aortic valve.
